It consists of volcanic massifs and mountain ranges. Its high cliffs are precipitous. The most prominent peaks are The Stokap Mountain (1634 m) and Bogdan Khmelknitsy (1589 m). Active volcanoes are Atsunupuri and Berutaruba situated in the south of the island.
